Compared to the last special two week's ago, (last week was a special bred cow sale) the best test on steer calves weighed 500-600 lbs selling 10.00-18.00 higher, with 600-650 lbs on comparable sales and weights trading steady to firm all other weights of steers lightly tested but selling with a higher undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-550 lbs sold fully steady to firm, with 600-650 lb heifers selling 10.00-15.00 higher other weights of heifers sold with a firm to higher undertone on a light test. Slaughter cows sold firm to 3.00 higher. Demand was good on a light to moderate offering with the best demand on the 500-600 lb steers and 500-550 lb heifers. Cattle on Feed Report was released Friday afternoon pretty much within estimates with On Feed at 99 percent, Placements came in at 94 percent and Marketings at 110 percent. Supply included: 87% Feeder Cattle (47% Steers, 47% 15% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 51%.

Holstein steers traded 2.00 higher on high choice and unevenly steady on low choice and selects.  Feeder steers & heifers traded unevenly steady on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle) and 5.00 lower on medium-short 2-3. Slaughter cows traded 2.00-3.00 higher on better overnight cows with good lean cows trading 3.00 higher and 3.00 higher on slower cows. Slaughter bulls traded unevenly steady.
