Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves weighing 400-450 lbs sold with a firm to higher undertone on a light test, 500-650 lbs sold mostly steady with over 650 lbs on a light comparison selling with weak to lower undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lbs sold steady to firm, 500-550 lbs had the most advance trading 10.00-15.00 higher, with 550-650 lbs trading steady, over 650 lbs not well tested. Demand was moderate to good on a moderate supply with several good consignments of good quality calves, but overall quality was not as deep as two weeks ago. Slaughter steers and heifers sold steady, with slaughter cows trading mostly firm to 5.00 higher. Supply included: 83% Feeder Cattle (55% Steers, 41% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 17% Slaughter Cattle (16% Steers, 6% Heifers, 71% Cows, 7% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 49%.
