COLUMBIA, MISSOURI

Missouri 4-H and University of Missouri Extension will host a Crops Field Day on Wednesday, July 10, at MU Bradford Farm near Columbia.

Youths and volunteers will be able to learn about common Missouri crops, insects, diseases, disorders and weeds as well as about pesticide safety. The event will bring state-level opportunities to youths involved in agronomy and plant-science-related projects, said Maria Calvert, MU Extension state 4-H agriculture educator.

“This is an area that has needed to grow, and with the help of our MU Extension colleagues, we will be able to offer a great opportunity for young people to develop their knowledge and skills in this area,” Calvert said.

Early registration is $12 and will be open in 4-H Online (https://v2.4honline.com) May 11 to June 10. Late registration ($15) runs June 11 to June 18. No entries will be accepted after June 18.

4-H members and volunteers should enroll using their 4-H Online profile. This event is open to non-4-H members, who should create a participant profile in 4-H Online before registering for the event. Learn more at http://muext.us/4HCropScouting.  ∆
