Friday's auction was a special bred cow and heifer pairs sale, with the main attraction being near 100 top quality heifer pairs selling with good to very good demand with the stick out heifer pairs selling from 3200.00-3575.00 per pair, with several young 4-7 year old pairs in the offering selling with good demand. Bred cows consisted mostly of young 3-6 year olds in the 2nd stage selling with good demand along with several groups of bred heifers mostly 2-3 years in the 2nd stage also selling with good demand. Slaughter cows traded mostly 6.00-12.00 lower. Cattle on Feed report was issued Friday afternoon with On Feed coming in at 101 percent within expectations, Placements came in lower than expected at 88 percent and Marketings at 86 percent. Supply included: 22% Feeder Cattle (69% Steers, 26% Heifers, 4% Bulls); 25% Slaughter Cattle (8% Steers, 2% Heifers, 82% Cows, 8% Bulls); 53% Replacement Cattle (33% Bred Cows, 13% Bred Heifers, 22% Cow-Calf Pairs, 31% Heifer Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 41%.

Slaughter steers and heifers traded 1.00 lower on high choice and 2.00 lower on low choice and selects. Holstein steers traded 1.00 higher on high choice and steady on low choice and selects.  Feeder steers & heifers traded stronger on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle) and steady on medium-short 2-3. Slaughter cows traded 5.00-10.00 lower on better cows with good lean cows trading lower and trade lower on slower cows. Slaughter bulls traded lower.
