IHC 1 Row Corn Binder

JERRY DAVIS

PERRYVILLE, MISSOURI

The image shows an International Harvester Corporation, (IHC) single row corn binder. This corn binder is a ground driven type verses a PTO driven type. As such, it can be pulled by horses or a small tractor. The River Hills Antique Tractor Club demonstrated this corn binder at the Davis Farm on November 12, 2023. The corn stubble was cut in 7-12 inch stalks and twin tied in a small bundle with twine, similar to a straw bale. In earlier days, the bundles were larger and the bundled stalks were stood upright in the field. The corn ears were then pulled out from the bundles at a later time.
