Children and adults alike can learn about the importance of agriculture at upcoming AgMagic events on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge and in the Greater New Orleans area.

AgMagic, which the LSU AgCenter has hosted annually for about two decades, takes visitors on an interactive journey featuring hands-on lessons about crops, forestry, animals, insects, aquaculture and nutrition. While targeted to children, AgMagic exhibits and activities can provide valuable information to all about how agriculture affects many aspects of daily life.

“This hands-on, interactive tour through Louisiana agriculture is a true showcase of the many agricultural products Louisiana has to offer,” said Hannah Devall, AgCenter animal science and agricultural literacy and awareness specialist. “I welcome anyone and everyone to take advantage of this free opportunity to gain a firsthand experience that brings Louisiana agriculture to life.”

In Baton Rouge, registered school groups can tour AgMagic at LSU’s Parker Coliseum March 18 to 22. The event will be open to the public March 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

AgMagic on the River, held at Docville Farm in Violet, will be open to school groups March 19 to 22. The public is invited to come on March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

AgMagic events are held in Alexandria and Shreveport each fall.
