Fifty Five Ph.Ds., Thirty Three Farmers And Thirteen Certified Crop Advisors Made Presentation At Recent Conservation Systems Agriculture Conference
JONESBORO, ARKANSAS
The 27th Annual Conservation Systems Cotton & Rice Conference, Southern Soybean & Corn Conference, Delta State Irrigation Conference and Southern Precision Ag Conference held recently in Jonesboro, Arkansas drew an eager in-person crowd.
“The crowd was great, we had an attendance of over 700. The farmers in attendance averaged 6921 acres last year of Agriculture crop production,” said John M. LaRose Jr., President and Publisher, MidAmerica Farm Publications.
The conference has been a production of MidAmerica Farm Publication for 27 years and sponsored for 27 years by Cotton Incorporated and 25 years by U.S. Rice Producers Association. For the past 27 years, Academic Partners have been Auburn University, Alabama, University of Arkansas, LSU AgCenter, Mississippi State University, University of Missouri, University of Tennessee and Texas A&M University.
Following remarks during the Award Luncheon by Dr. Justin Benavidez, Chief Economist of the House Committee on Agriculture, Conservation Systems Awards were presented to:

Jesse Flye, a Arkansas Farmer, Cotton Farmer of the Year,
Dr. Trenton Roberts, University of Arkansas, Rice Researcher of the Year,
Alex Clark, a Missouri Farmer, Rice Farmer of the Year,
Dr. Caio Canella Vieira, University of Arkansas, Soybean Researcher of the Year,
Dr. Stacia Conger, LSU AgCenter, Irrigation Researcher of the Year,
Over the two-day period there were 66 researchers, 33 farmers, 13 Professional Crop Advisors, which included 55 Ph.Ds. gave presentations on their research and on-farm studies. There were 18 Cotton presentation, 22 Rice presentations, 11 Soybean presentations, 5 Corn Presentations, 15 Irrigation presentations, 4 Precision Ag presentations, 9 other presentations and 5 Roundtable Discussions facilitated by 19 experts.
There was a 62 Exhibitor Trade Show Booths.
The social reception sponsored by U.S. Rice Producers Association, entertained attendees with the live music of “GrassFire”, drinks, hors d’oeuvres and attendance prizes.
