Compared to last week's very light receipts steer calves under 650 lbs sold with a sharply higher undertone, over 650 lbs were not tested on a light offering. Feeder heifers weighing under 650 lbs sold with a higher undertone and over 650 lbs not well tested. Feeders sold in mostly small groups and packages with a part load of 815 lb heifers selling with moderate to good demand on a moderate supply. Slaughter cows sold fully steady with a nice offering of choice slaughter steers and heifers trading with a higher undertone. Expecting a large run of feeders for next week's special feeder cattle auction. Supply included: 69% Feeder Cattle (36% Steers, 52% Heifers, 12% Bulls); 31% Slaughter Cattle (21% Steers, 8% Heifers, 66% Cows, 5% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 43%.

Supply included: 80% Feeder Cattle (41% Steers, 47% Heifers, 12% Bulls); 18% Slaughter Cattle (89% Cows, 11% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (83% Bred Cows, 6% Bred Heifers, 11% Cow-Calf Pairs). Slaughter steers and heifers traded unevenly steady on high choice and 1.00-2.00 lower on low choice and selects. Holstein steers traded 2.00-4.00 higher on high choice and steady on low choice and selects.  Feeder steers & heifers trade was strong on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle) and weaker on medium-short 2-3. Slaughter cows traded 2.00-3.00 higher on better cows and 1.00-2.00 higher on slower cows. Slaughter bulls traded steady.
