Friday's end of the year auction had a light run of feeders that sold with a firm to higher undertone on a very light test of comparable feeders from two weeks's ago and sold with good demand. Slaughter cows traded fully steady to firm with two weeks ago. Supply included: 61% Feeder Cattle (36% Steers, 39% Heifers, 24% Bulls); 39% Slaughter Cattle (8% Heifers, 85% Cows, 7% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 42%.

Slaughter steers and heifers traded 3.00 higher on high choice and 2.00-4.00 higher on low choice and selects. Holstein steers traded unevenly steady on high choice and 3.00 lower on low choice and selects.  Feeder steers & heifers traded 6.00-8.00 higher on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle) and stronger on medium-short 2-3. Slaughter cows traded 2.00-4.00 higher on better cows and steady to 3.00 higher on slower cows. Slaughter bulls traded steady to 3.00 higher.
