2024 Three-State Beef Conference
COLUMBIA, MISSOURI
"Re-evaluating today's management practices for future success" is the theme of the 2024 Three-State Beef Conference. The program is a cooperative effort of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, University of Missouri Extension, and Nebraska Extension.
Dr. Mary Drewnoski, beef systems specialist at the University of Nebraska, will present "Corn residue grazing: current recommendations and adjustments based on new data." After dinner, the topic of management of heifers and young cows for longevity will be discussed by two presenters. Dr. Kiernan Brandt, professional services technician with Trans Ova Genetics, will share recommendations on "Developing heifers for the future." "Managing young cows for longevity and profitability" will be presented by Dr. Thiago Martins, assistant professor of beef reproduction extension and research for the University of Missouri.
The program will be repeated in three locations on three dates:
- Tuesday, January 16, 2024: Northwest Technical School, Maryville, Missouri
- Wednesday, January 17: Warren Cultural Center, Greenfield, Iowa
- Thursday, January 18: Otoe County fairgrounds, Syracuse, Nebraska
