Friday's auction had a very light offering of feeder cattle selling mostly in small packages and singles and were not well tested. The main attraction of the sale was a consignment of 58 head of high choice slaughter steers and heifers selling form 184.00-185.25 which was steady to firm with the sale from two weeks ago as last week had very few on offer to compare. Slaughter cows were uneven with breaking cows selling mostly steady and boning and breaking trading steady to weak on mostly average to low dressing cows. Supply included: 53% Feeder Cattle (27% Steers, 47% Heifers, 25% Bulls); 47% Slaughter Cattle (21% Steers, 26% Heifers, 45% Cows, 8% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 18%.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 3.00-10.00 lower with some weight 20.00 lower with a lot of unwean calves in the offering and the month of October right around the corner. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady; Demand lower and supply light to moderate. Supply included: 84% Feeder Cattle (43% Steers, 37% Heifers, 19% Bulls); 16% Slaughter Cattle (84% Cows, 16% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (83% Bred Cows, 17% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 21%.
