Friday's auction was a Special Bred Cow and Heifer Pairs sale with the main feature being near 200 head of heifer pairs and young bred cows mostly in the 2nd stage. There were several consignments of top quality blk heifer pairs with calves weighing 150-300 lbs selling on a very active market with good demand, along with several consignments of good quality heifer pairs trading with moderate to good demand. Several consignments of young 3-6 year old pairs with calves weighing 150-300 lbs also sold with good demand along with the young 3-5 year old bred cows mostly in the 2nd stage. Slaughter cows on a very large offering sold mostly steady with spots 3.00 lower on the boning and lean cows with breaking cows selling steady. Nice offering of slaughter steers and heifers sold steady with last week. Feeder cattle on a light test sold steady to firm on comparable sales and quality. Supply included: 26% Feeder Cattle (49% Steers, 42% Heifers, 9% Bulls); 32% Slaughter Cattle (23% Steers, 6% Heifers, 64% Cows, 7% Bulls); 42% Replacement Cattle (43% Bred Cows, 1% Bred Heifers, 20% Cow-Calf Pairs, 36% Heifer Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 25%.
