Ozark Ag Issues to cover region's hot agriculture topics
COLMBIA, MISSOURI
Ozark Ag Issues, a program featuring University of Missouri Extension specialists, is being held in four southwestern Missouri counties and will cover a variety of pressing topics.
One of the top issues is rebuilding the cattle herd.
“Cattle producers who had to destock during the drought will be making plans to increase their herd numbers again, especially since forecasted cattle prices look good,” said MU Extension livestock specialist Eric Meusch.
Livestock specialist Elizabeth Picking in southwestern Missouri will co-present with Meusch as they compare different strategies to increase the herd.
Other topics:
- Ag business – market outlook and enterprise budgets.
- Agronomy – recovering from the drought.
- Nutrition – cutting costs at the grocery store.
