New Rice ‘Cheat Sheet’ For Arkansas Farmers

STUTTGART, ARK.
   Make a little space in your life for the newly arrived Arkansas Rice Quick Facts sheet. The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension has produced a reference sheet listing all the basics for rice farming, including growth stages, seeding date recommendations, fertilization optimization, and irrigation methods. Disease and pest mitigation basics are also included. The fact sheet also includes statistics for last year's rice harvest.
   The fact sheet was compiled by Dr. Jarrod Hardke, extension rice agronomist for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture; Lance Schmidt, extension area rice agronomist; and Ralph Mazzanti, also an extension area rice agronomist.
